BYD 2025: The Sealion 7 Leads the Charge – And This is Just the Beginning

With five new models, BYD is set to make a splash in Europe in 2025. From the powerful Sealion 7 to the luxury SUV Yangwang U8, here are the highlights.

BYD Conquers Europe: A Look at the 2025 Highlights

The Chinese car manufacturer BYD (Build Your Dreams) has big plans: Five new models are set to shake up the European market in 2025. In addition to the futuristic Sealion 7 and the elegant Seal 06 sedan, BYD is introducing luxury with the impressive Yangwang U8. The focus is on electric and plug-in hybrid drives, making the brand an exciting competitor to established manufacturers.

Sealion 7: The Star of BYD's Offensive

The new Sealion 7 is BYD's flagship for 2025. This all-electric SUV is 4.83 meters long and is based on the modern e-Platform 3.0 architecture, specially developed for electric models. The core of the vehicle is the LFP Blade Batteries, available with either 82.5 kWh or 92.3 kWh capacity. The top version impresses with two electric motors, all-wheel drive, and a substantial output of 539 horsepower.

The iTAC system ensures a dynamic driving experience by intelligently distributing torque to all four wheels. With this, the Sealion 7 aims to excel not only in performance but also in handling and safety. Tesla Model Y and Volkswagen ID.4 might face tough competition in 2025.

Seal 06: Versatile Successor of the Ocean-M Prototype

With the Seal 06, BYD brings a 4.63-meter-long hatchback model to Europe. This elegant sedan could be offered either as an electric car or a plug-in hybrid, though specific performance details are yet to be revealed. The 2.82-meter wheelbase promises plenty of space for passengers and luggage—a plus compared to competitors like the Hyundai Ioniq 6. While prices in China start at around 25,000 euros, the starting price in Europe is likely to be slightly higher.

Yangwang U8: Luxury on Wheels

For the luxury segment, BYD plans to introduce the Yangwang brand in Europe. The first model, the U8, is a large plug-in hybrid SUV with 1,200 horsepower and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. Four electric motors—one at each wheel—provide outstanding traction and performance. Thanks to an additional 2.0-liter turbo gasoline engine, the U8 also excels in range. Whether the Yangwang U8 can outdo models like the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV remains an exciting question!

## BYD: A Challenger to Keep an Eye On With its ambitious plan for 2025, BYD shows that it is taking the European market seriously. From the sporty Sealion 7 to the versatile Seal 06 sedan and the luxurious Yangwang U8, the range of models is impressively diverse. At a time when electromobility and plug-in hybrids are becoming increasingly important, BYD could become a real threat to European manufacturers. Whether their plans will succeed remains to be seen—but 2025 promises to be exciting!
